About IPANM
The Independent Petroleum Association of New Mexico was formed in 1978 by a concerned group of New Mexico independent oil and natural gas producers. In the spirit of this tradition, IPANM continues to grow and provide the services that protect, defend, and promote the industry that is the very foundation of our way of life. A primary goal of IPANM is to educate the public about the benefits provided by our industry. Oil and natural gas is the WORKHORSE of New Mexico's economy. It is vital the public understand that as an industry we continually contribute to a better New Mexico.
The Independents
You'll have to excuse us if we're not exactly polished in our approach. We're not eloquent, nor are we fashionable. Our knuckles are cracked and the lines in our faces run deep. Our trucks tend to be scratched and dusty, but that's the way we like it.
Independent oil producers and the other people who we do business with are hard-working, fiercely loyal, and dedicated to family and friends. Most of our members are small, family-owned businesses that for decades have been producing valuable energy supplies for New Mexico and the nation, while also protecting the environment.
It's a difficult task giving people the affordable energy they count on to live their lives, but we're up to the challenge. We produce the energy that warms homes, fuels businesses, creates jobs, provides for education, builds roads, runs government, and everything in between. We're independent oil and natural gas producers.
Board of Directors (2009-2010)
The activities of IPANM are truly directed by its members. The member-elected Board of Directors guides all business conducted by the Association. The Board has outsourcing arrangements to support its administrative and lobby
ing functions. Consequently, IPANM focuses solely on the concerns of the independent oil and gas producer in New Mexico.
